Supporting Your Baby’s Growth with Care and Connection

Infants

6 Weeks to 18 Months

At Perfect Start Early Education, Crestmead, our 6 weeks to 18 months room focuses on building secure attachments with your baby. We know how vital consistent, sensitive, and responsive care is for a child’s overall development. Research shows that babies who experience nurturing and predictable care build trust and form healthy attachments, which are essential for their growth.

To ensure a positive and supportive environment, we:

  • Work closely with parents to help you feel confident and relaxed about your child’s care.
  • Share smiles, cuddles, and warm interactions to foster a sense of security.
  • Engage in singing, storytelling, and gentle baby massage to soothe and comfort.
  • Provide tummy time and support your baby in reaching their milestones naturally and joyfully.

Our commitment to responsive, nurturing care ensures that your baby forms strong connections in a trusted, safe space while thriving emotionally and developmentally.

Active Minds, Growing Bodies

Toddlers

12 Months to 18 Months

At Perfect Start Early Education, our Toddlers engage in fun, educational experiences throughout the day. We love learning about your child’s favourite activities, as it helps us create a seamless transition from home to the centre.

We understand that toddlers are naturally focused on their own needs, making sharing and group play a bit tricky. To support this stage of development, we design our environments with plenty of similar toys and equipment to reduce frustration while also introducing opportunities for social growth. Our educators are highly skilled in guiding toddlers through these early social interactions and teaching essential life skills.

Sensory motor development is also a key focus for toddlers. These years are full of rapid physical growth that lays the foundation for future learning. To support this, we offer activities that promote sensory exploration and motor skills, such as:

  • Crawling, spinning, creeping, and climbing
  • Jumping, skipping, hopping, and catching
  • Exploring messy play (please bring some old clothes)
  • Singing, dancing, and making music

At Perfect Start, we believe in nurturing your child’s development in a warm, supportive, and engaging environment.

Growing Through Play

Junior Kindy

18 Months to 3 Years

At Perfect Start Early Education, our Junior Kindy program, for children 18months to 3 years, is thoughtfully designed to support your child’s development in key areas such as fine motor skills, sensory awareness, and brain integration. Our dedicated educators create daily experiences that encourage both physical and cognitive growth through a range of activities that are not only educational but also fun!

We understand that many parents wonder, “When will my child learn their colours, numbers, and letters?” While these are valuable milestones, they are not the only indicators of your child’s future success. True learning goes beyond reciting the alphabet—it’s about developing the skills to engage in meaningful play, problem-solving with peers, and understanding the world around them.

In Junior Kindy, your child will:

  • Run and engage in physical play
  • Play ball and build hand-eye coordination
  • Explore their creativity through drawing and painting (and yes, some days might get messy!)
  • Engage in sensory-rich water play

Our holistic approach focuses on all aspects of your child’s growth, some of which may not be visible on paper but are essential to their overall development. At Perfect Start, we’re committed to fostering an environment where your child can thrive in every way.

Exploring, Creating, and Growing

Senior Kindy

3 Years – 4 Years

Our Senior Kindy room is licensed for 22 children aged approximately 3 to 4 years, supported by two dedicated staff members. We prioritise flexibility in our age groupings to meet the diverse needs of our children, families, and community. This approach allows siblings or friends to stay together during their settling-in process, creating a comforting environment.

In our Kindy groups, children will enjoy a variety of engaging activities, including:

  • Running and physical play
  • Ball games
  • Drawing and painting (and yes, some days will get a bit messy!)
  • Water play
  • Storytime and music listening
  • Creative play with playdough and clay
  • Climbing and small-risk play

We believe that small-risk play is essential for healthy development. While it might be hard to watch, allowing children to take calculated risks in a safe environment helps them build confidence and resilience, reducing the likelihood of greater risks as they grow older. So, feel free to let us help them reach new heights on the fort!

Future – Ready

Queensland Approved Kindergarten Program

4 Years – 5 Years

At Perfect Start, we approach early childhood education holistically, offering play-centred programs that allow children to thrive. Our activities include block play, games, puzzles, arts and crafts, dress-ups, dancing, storytelling, and singing—just a few of the exciting experiences your child will enjoy.

We believe that fun environments foster effective learning. When children engage in activities driven by their interests, they absorb information more meaningfully, making it easier to retain what they’ve learned.

As we prepare your child for their transition to prep, we focus on key skills, including:

  • Effective Communication: Encouraging children to express their ideas and feelings through language.
  • Cooperation: Supporting them in working together with peers without resorting to hitting, pushing, or biting.
  • Separation Adjustment: Helping children become comfortable with separating from their primary caregivers.
  • Independence: Fostering the ability to work independently on tasks.
  • Creative Expression: Encouraging children to share their thoughts and ideas through various art forms.
  • Problem-Solving Language: Teaching phrases like “let’s negotiate” to enhance their conflict resolution skills.
  • Motor Skills Development: Supporting both fine and gross motor skills, essential for tasks like writing.

Through our engaging, play-based learning experiences, we aim to equip your child with the skills they need for future success.

Let me Introduce myself

Hi, I’m Rebecca!

With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education, I’ve been fortunate to work across various roles, gaining valuable insights and skills that I’m excited to share with all of you. Change can sometimes feel challenging, but I want you to know that I’m here to support each one of you through any transitions we face together.

As someone who truly values mentorship, there’s nothing I enjoy more than helping others grow and succeed. You can expect respect, transparency, leadership, and authenticity from me. These values guide everything I do, and I’m committed to creating an environment where we can all thrive and work towards the same goal—providing the best for the children in our care.

On a personal note, I’m a proud mum to my 7-year-old son, Noah, who fills my life with so much joy. Outside of work, I’m a big Disney fan and love nothing more than escaping to the snow for a bit of snowboarding. I’m always up for a good chat, whether it’s about work, life, or anything in between, and I can’t wait to get to know you all.

I absolutely love being part of the team at Perfect Start Crestmead, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our family!

FAQ’s

Most commonly asked

We’re open 52 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, from 6.30am to 6:30pm. We are only closed on public holidays.
Yes you’re more than welcome to book a tour at any one of our centres. We can arrange tours at no charge, however all enrolment documents must be returned and parents must stay on the premises.
Yes, we recommend a minimum of two days care. We believe your child will benefit from building strong trusting relationships with their educators and peers and settle in more quickly the more frequently they attend.
Your child will only need a spare change of clothing and a water bottle. We supply all meals, nappies, sunhat and bedding. For families who have littles ones in the nursery please bring bottles and formula/breast milk and if a comforter, such as pacifiers, blanket or soft toys, is required please feel free to bring this along too. If you’d like to speak to an educator about enrolling your child you can get in touch with us at anytime.
Yes we are! To aid in the payment of childcare fees, the Department of Human Services has provided access to Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for eligible families. Parents, please note it is your responsibility to apply for these schemes with the Family Assistance Office on 136 150. Once CCS is approved, you will need to provide the Centre with your Customer Reference Number (CRN) and date of birth (DOB) along with your child’s CRN and DOB so a formal enrolment can be made. Your benefit/rebate will then be subtracted from the full fees owing, leaving a gap fee which is the amount families pay to the Centre, meaning less out of pocket expense.

For further information: www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/subjects/assistance-child-care-fees
Fees are payable on the Friday of your child’s first week of care via Debit Success. Fees are payable one week in advance, so in your child’s first week of care, two weeks fees will be debited.
