I’m Michaela (pronounced Micarla), your new Nominated Supervisor at Birkdale returning to where my early childhood journey began 16 years ago.
Previously at Perfect Start Capalaba as Lead Educator and Acting Assistant Director, with years of Director experience, I’m passionate about strong relationships, team growth, and quality early learning.

At Perfect Start Early Education Birkdale, our Infant Program is thoughtfully designed for babies aged 6 weeks to 15 months, providing high-quality childcare , nursery care, and early learning in a nurturing, homely environment.
We understand that starting childcare can be an emotional transition for families. That’s why our experienced early childhood educators focus on building strong, secure relationships with both children and parents, creating a sense of trust, comfort, and belonging from day one.
Our nursery rooms are warm, safe, and welcoming, designed to support your baby’s wellbeing, routine, and early development. With educator-to-child ratios aligned with the National Quality Framework (NQF), each child receives personalised care and attention to support their individual needs.
Located in Birkdale and supporting families across the Redlands Coast, our infant childcare program focuses on early socialisation, sensory exploration, and foundational learning.
We support early communication and language development through talking, reading, singing, and meaningful interactions throughout the day. We support toddlers in understanding their emotions, building relationships, and developing empathy in a safe and nurturing setting.

At Perfect Start Early Education Birkdale, our Senior Toddlers program provides a nurturing, play-based, and stimulating early learning environment where children aged 2.5 to 3.5 years grow into confident, independent learners through high-quality childcare and daycare.
This stage is full of curiosity and wonder, where children are eager to explore, question, and discover the world around them. Our early childhood education program supports this natural curiosity through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.
Children at this stage begin developing essential early learning skills such as recognising numbers and letters, building early numeracy and literacy foundations, strengthening attention spans, and developing early problem-solving abilities. Extra Curricular Activities
At Perfect Start Early Education, we believe in enriching our children’s learning experiences through a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Our centres offer engaging programs such as creative arts, music, dance, and movement classes, as well as gardening and outdoor exploration.
We also introduce children to sports and STEAM activities, encouraging them to discover their interests and talents. These activities are designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and physical development, providing a well-rounded education that supports each child’s growth and confidence.
Library Visits
We regularly visit the Birkdale State School Library to instill the love for books in each child. Making these regular visits helps the transition to school easier for our Kindergarten children.
Many of our children cannot wait to start school and feel very comfortable in the school environment. We also participate in sports carnivals, Under 8’s day, and the Book week Parade at Birkdale State School.
Kindy Science
Kindy Science is a wonderful program developed to enrich and extend early childhood-aged children in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) using engaging activities in an everyday environment.
Happy Feet
Happy Feet is a fun movement and dance class, the creativity of music, and the joy of active play.
