Our Story

At Perfect Start, we create a nurturing, homely space where children thrive through joyful, play-based learning. Together with our families, we support each child’s growth, fostering their development with care and love.

Our Philosophy

Fostering Safe, Respectful, and Empowering Foundations for Lifelong Learning

At Perfect Start Early Education, our philosophy is rooted in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is valued and respected as an individual. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and Dr. Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, we embrace the belief that each child is intelligent in their own way, with unique strengths and capacities.

Our educators, as co-explorers in the learning journey, empower children to have a voice in directing their own learning. We believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences—touching, moving, listening, and observing—that foster curiosity, imagination, and connectedness with the world around them. By offering endless opportunities for expression and exploration, we celebrate every child’s individuality and potential.

We are committed to embedding respect for cultural diversity and sustainability into daily practices. We honour the Quandamooka and Yugambeh people, the Traditional Owners of the land, by incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our program, fostering an appreciation of Indigenous cultures for all stakeholders.

Our centres provide a safe, secure, and fail-free environment where children feel a sense of belonging. By building strong, respectful relationships with families and the community, we create a foundation of trust and collaboration from enrolment onwards. We encourage active parent participation and value family input in shaping each child’s experience.

Healthy nutrition is also a priority, with fresh, balanced meals prepared onsite that meet Dietary Guidelines and inspire lifelong healthy eating habits.

Through a balance of open-ended and structured play, we support each child’s independence, creativity, and physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our educators are committed to continuous professional growth, ensuring we stay at the forefront of early childhood education and maintain high standards of care.

At Perfect Start Early Education, we are dedicated to fostering each child’s sense of belonging, being, and becoming, preparing them for a lifetime of learning, confidence, and success.

A Message from Our Family to Yours

Nurturing with Passion, Committed to Growth

At Perfect Start Early Education, the commitment from our family-owned leadership runs deep. With nearly a decade of experience in early childhood education, we are driven by a strong desire to support and uplift the next generation. What sets us apart is the wealth of knowledge and expertise within our family, including over 45 years of educational experience, which informs every decision we make for the centre.

Our journey into this sector wasn’t just about building a business—it was about making a real difference. We are deeply invested in creating a place where children can thrive, develop, and learn through meaningful experiences. This is not just a job for us; it’s a passion to nurture young minds, foster their growth, and give them the best possible start in life.

We believe in fostering strong relationships—whether it’s with the children in our care, their families, or our dedicated team of educators. We take pride in working closely with families, valuing open communication and collaboration to ensure every child feels supported both at home and at the centre. Our educators are seen as co-learners in each child’s journey, bringing a personal touch to their role in shaping young lives.

As a family, we are committed to maintaining high standards of care, ensuring our centre reflects the values of safety, respect, and opportunity. Our dedication extends to the wider community, as we strive to create a positive, inclusive environment where all children can succeed.

Perfect Start Early Education isn’t just a place—it’s a community-driven effort to enrich young lives and build a brighter future for every child who walks through our doors.

Child
The child, represented by a bright, shining star, sits at the centre of the kindy story. They are an individual with their own thoughts and dreams, ready to begin the kindy journey.

The educator sits in the centre with the children sat around. The yellow arrows radiating outward represent the positive effect the educator has on the child’s development.
The family is represented at the centre with the community surrounding. It takes a community to raise a child and they are there in support of the family.
The educator sits in the centre with the children sat around. The yellow arrows radiating outward represent the positive effect the educator has on the child’s development.
The learning motif has arrows pointing inwards and outwards representing the child forming an understanding of themselves (internal arrows), and adding to their understanding of the world around them (external arrows).
Play-based learning is an essential and central part of kindy. Using the star again to represent a child, this element shows that the child is exploring and playing. Play is positioned next to the educator in the songline, showing that the educator facilitates play, which leads to the next element: learning.
The arrows radiating out in all directions, represent that the child will be always growing in all directions. This element captures a sense of boundless opportunity for our children as they grow and learn at kindy
The structure represents the strength of the solid foundation that is built on trust at kindy. This trust can be formed between the family and educator, or the child and educator, and underpins all the relationships developed during the songline journey.
Represented through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art symbols, culture does not enter the song line at a defined point, but is an integral part of the song line itself.

Understanding the Elements of the Kindy Song Line

The Kindy Journey

At Perfect Start Early Education, we incorporate songlines into our branding to illustrate the learning journey of each child and their connection to the world around them. Using songlines in our early childhood setting sparks conversations about the journey your family will experience throughout the kindy year. This creates a wonderful opportunity for families to engage with us and connect with their children through these rich stories.

Together, we can explore and celebrate the journey of learning and growth in a way that resonates deeply with our shared cultural heritage. Our use of songlines not only enriches our educational environment but also honours and respects the traditions that shape our community, fostering a sense of belonging for every child.
